My first flash slideshow ever was made using Slide. Now it sounds like $182 million later, Google’s buying Slide. It will be interesting to see what Google does with Slide, especially thinking back specifically to the acquisition of Writely and Sketchup and the resources they have provided.
Thinking about flash-based slide shows, I always find myself missing spresent. My students loved that program, it was so intuitive for them and fresh-looking (sort of like the appearance of iWork’s Keynote). I appreciate Google Doc’s Presentation but if one is looking for a bit more flashy or smooth and still web-based, Prezi is probably the way to go though it doesn’t seem as intuitive as spresent was…but I digress.
